Gladys Swedak started writing a number of years ago after telling her husband she had a story for a prompt in a biweekly paper. He told her there is a computer downstairs and to go and write it. She didn’t win the contest but it got her back into writing. She likes writing fiction and usually writes from a line prompt or a picture. Gladys also likes hand crafts and is a spiritual person.
She has self-published White Medicine Woman about a young white woman who is adopted by a Medicine Woman of an Indian tribe, and also The Wild Ones about gentling wild horses without their knowledge of being trained. It is from the horse’s point of view.
She has a story in Chicken Soup for the Nurses Soul and two in Crossing The Rainbow Bridge. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and two cats.
